With out a doubt Brides these days are requesting a more natural look over a heavy "Kardashian" take on Bridal Makeup, but when I suggest Eyelashes as an option their faces change to a confused look and they then repeat their request for the natural makeup look.
Taking the bride by the hand, I inform them I use only individual lashes for the natural bride and by adding them they will complete the look...... Trust me!
Its a daunting and scary experience for anyone who hasn't tried eyelashes before and for those who generally haven't tried them they automatically think huge butterfly like eyes. Once I have completed the look the brides face changes to a smile.
Don't knock them until you try them!
The best thing about individual lashes is you can add as many or as less as you want. Many times I only add 2 or 3 to the outer corner of the top lid to lift and open the eye and in other cases we mix small and medium individual lashes for those with thinner natural lashes.
Here are my favourite brands when it comes to creating a soft look:
At $12 for a 12 pack, Ardell create soft and feathery individual lashes. These are the most common used lashes for Makeup Artists, as they are more affordable and come with the glue set, not to mention most large Chemist chains sell them.
Of course MAC are known for their beautifully formulated products and same goes for their lash sets. At only $18 you are sure you get a flawless finish with these. You do have to buy the glue separately however.
Sephora come in at $19 with the glue, however don't tell let price put you off, Their lashes are silky smooth and the glue is very light-weight.
